PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man police said was impaired hit a police patrol car early Saturday morning in Northeast Portland.

Portland police were responding to a report about a person possibly casing cars near NE Sandy Boulevard and NE 79th Avenue around 3 a.m.

One officer saw a Toyota Camry driving toward the other officer’s car with no headlights, hitting it and causing major damage.

The officer wasn’t badly hurt but the Camry driver, 40-year-old Jeremy Heisler, and a passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators said Heisler was impaired and he was cited for DUII, reckless driving and driving while suspended or revoked.
