PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man is in custody after police said he caused a disturbance on Highway 217 Saturday afternoon.

Beaverton Police said they were called to the Grocery Outlet on SW Hall Blvd. and SW Scholls Ferry Road because a man was acting strangely. Before police arrived, the man took off in his car, which allegedly crashed on Hwy 217 near Greenburg Road.

He crashed into at least one other car and then got out and jumped onto another car, according to police.

After that, he started taking off his clothes and was then taken into custody and then hospitalized.

Depending on his mental state, the man, who has not been identified, may face charges of disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer.

All lanes of 2017 were blocked for about an hour and the highway was backed up for miles.
