PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who gave authorities a fake name after a crash on Interstate-5 that closed lanes for hours Halloween night.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. at North Killingsworth Street. All northbound lanes and 2 southbound lanes were blocked. Officers arrived to find two damaged trucks—one was a Freightliner dump truck that was leaking diesel fuel across all three lanes of traffic. The other was a semi-tractor, which was hauling an empty propane tank trailer, said Portland Police.
The driver of the Freightliner was taken to a nearby hospital, but before officers could meet him at the hospital, the driver had fled. It was then that they discovered he had given a fake name.
If you know the identity of the suspect in the photo, call Officer Jordan Winkel at 503-823-5700.
