PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A new exhibit “The Art of Food” at Portland State University’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is exploring the universal subject of food.
The exhibit features dozens of artists from the famous Andy Warhol to some local talent.
“It’s wonderful to see local northwest artists among Lichtenstein, Warhol, Damien Hirst,” Jordan Schnitzer told KOIN 6 News.
The exhibit started at the University of Arizona, which has “a lot of food programs, as do most universities,” Schnitzer said. “I think what they realized is today, more than ever, we’re more conscious of what we eat; farm to table, what we eat, how we eat it, where we eat it, and therefore it was a natural theme for them to start.”
The exhibit is open through Dec. 3 and is free for everyone.
