PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland police received a call from a man claiming he’s the father of a wandering toddler after the 3-year-old girl went unidentified for several hours on Wednesday morning.
They’re still working to confirm he’s her dad.
This all started with a 9.1.1. call from a resident saying he found a little girl in his house. She ended up getting inside this stranger’s home in Northeast Portland near 28th Avenue and Prescott Street around 4 a.m.
“Fortunately, this homeowner did a rockstar job of calling 911 immediately, keeping her calm and nothing but good things from this gentleman,” said Sgt. Brad Yakots.
Police said she was in her pajamas, safe and unharmed — but unable to tell police where she lives.
Officers took her back to the police station to feed and care for her until they identified her parents. They notified DHS and are still looking into the facts surrounding this incident.
