PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A custodian with Portland Public Schools was arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges.

Law enforcement officials worked with Portland Public Schools to arrest Mitchell Jon Grandlund for allegedly possessing and publishing child pornography, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.

The investigation started in January when authorities reportedly received tips from an internet company alleging that Grandlund was uploading child pornography images and videos to an online account.

After obtaining a search warrant, authorities said they found more than 7,000 files in Grandlund’s account that showed young children being sexually abused and raped.

It wasn’t until last week that investigators learned Grandlund was employed as a custodian with Portland schools.

According to court documents, authorities found children’s underwear in Grandlund’s car, which was parked at Madison High School, and he also had methamphetamine.

Grandlund is facing 25 charges, including encouraging child sexual abuse and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
