SALEM, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Firefighters from Marion County responded to an explosion Tuesday that sparked a fire and destroyed a pool house in Salem, officials said.

The incident occurred on SE Jordan Street shortly before 9:30 p.m. Investigators said a propane leak caused the explosion and fire.

The first firefighters on the scene saw flames coming from the back of the resident’s pool house. The explosion sent flaming debris into the surrounding landscape, and broken glass flew more than 50 feet onto the pool area.

Investigators were unable to enter the pool house because of structural damage.

No other structures were involved and no injuries were reported in the incident.
