PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver of a semi truck died early Wednesday morning after the truck crashed on I-84 — causing it to catch fire.
Oregon State Police said it crashed shortly before 2 a.m. near milepost 74. The truck was driving eastbound in the slow lane when it drifted off the road, hit a rock embankment and caught fire.
The driver, later identified as 50-year-old Leo Stratton of Portland, died as a result of their injuries.
The eastbound slow lane will be closed while OSP investigates and removes the truck.
