PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A storage shed owned by the City of Lake Oswego was destroyed when fire erupted early Tuesday, causing about $365,000 in damage.
The 30×30 shed used by the Parks & Recreation department was completely engulfed and a backhoe totally burned by the time firefighters arrived after a passerby called 911 to report the blaze.
The shed at the Fir Lane property is actually located in the district where TVF&R responds. They arrived to fight the fire as well as crews from Lake Oswego. The fire closed Rosemont Road for more than an hour.
Investigators said a stump burning in the corner of the property likely spread to the shed, but what caused the stump to catch fire is still unknown.
