Thousands expected to clean Oregon beaches

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — This Saturday is the annual beach cleanup put on by SOLVE and KOIN.

Thousands of people are expected to comb the beaches along the Oregon coast from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There is still time to register for this family-friendly event. Last year, more than 5000 volunteers cleared nearly 70,000 pounds of debris from the Oregon coast.

Two more SOLVE dates are coming up — Earth Day on April 23 and the Beach and Riverside Clean-up on Sept. 24.
