PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An early Saturday morning assault on a TriMet bus between men who knew each other left one hospitalized and the other in jail.

Michael Henry Jr. used a tire iron to attack a 27-year-old man from Beaverton on the bus near the 18900 block of SW TV Highway in Aloha, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said. The bus driver alerted officials that the attacker ran away.

Deputies found the 47-year-old Hillsboro resident across the road and also found the tire iron on the ground near where he ran. Henry was arrested and taken to the county jail.

The injured man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries to his head and neck, officials said, and added this was not a random attack.

Neither the victim’s name nor condition has been released.
