PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A car crashed into a power pole in Northeast Portland early Wednesday morning — damaging the MAX overhead power wire and temporarily causing major delays.

TriMet said the crash happened at Northeast 122nd Avenue and East Burnside Street. It’s unclear what led up to the crash or if the driver suffered any injuries.

The agency said the damaged commercial pole wire blocked trains from coming out of the Gresham rail facility to serve the Blue, Green, Orange and Yellow lines.

Riders dealt with delays of up to 60 minutes for several hours. All MAX lines started to return to normal operations around 9:30 a.m.
