PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Northwest Old Cornelius Pass Road was closed Friday afternoon after a semi truck rolled over and blocked part of the roadway.

The closure was in effect at Northwest Phillips Road, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office said drivers in the area should use an alternative route.

A total of 6 tow trucks were called out to the area to flip the semi back on its wheels Friday evening. In a 9:51 p.m. update, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said that the road closure will be in effect through the night.

The driver of the semi was cited by deputies for failing to obey a traffic control device and careless driving, said the sheriff’s office.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
