A person working in a tree was critically injured in a chainsaw accident in Oregon City, July 18, 2019 (KOIN)

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A person critically injured in a chainsaw accident was airlifted from Oregon City to a Portland area hospital for treatment Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened on Eastfield Drive in Oregon City, the Clackamas Fire Department said, and Life Flight landed at the football field at Gardiner Middle School.

The person was in a tree working on limbs when the chainsaw kicked back and hit the shoulder.
