PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Firefighters have extinguished a structure fire in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood.

The Bureau of Emergency of Communications reports fire dispatchers were notified of the call at 3:46 a.m. Saturday in the 3000-block of Southeast 129th.

When firefighters arrived, they found the residential home fully involved with flames, officials said. A team of rescuers went inside the home to check for any victims, but none were found. A firefighter on scene said the house appeared to be vacant, but may have occupied by squatters.

The flames were extinguished within a matter of minutes. A fire investigator is on scene and will work to determine a cause, firefighters said.
