PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Volunteers, as a part of World Mission Society Church of God’s International Clean-up Campaign, went to Southeast Portland’s East Bank Esplanade on Sunday to do some cleaning for the community.

They spent the day picking trash along the Hawthorne Bridge.
Alex Vandyke with the World Mission Society of God talked about the group’s clean-up efforts.
“We want it to look beautiful,” Vandyke said. “This is the environment. This is the place that we live. So if we can make it look beautiful and a warm place, many people will be really happy.”
