SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — Salem-Keizer Public Schools announced that Waldo Middle School was in lockdown Wednesday afternoon.

The lockdown was lifted just before 2:30 p.m.

The district said they have notified families of the situation.

School principal Tricia Nelson said that around 1:55 p.m., school staff encountered suspicious individuals that were refusing to leave the campus and that the lockdown was enacted out of an abundance of caution.
