BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN/AP) — A man wanted for sexually assaulting a child was found and arrested Tuesday thanks to tips from the public, deputies said.
Detective Robert L. Rookhuyzen said a grand jury indicted 24-year-old Jorge E. Bravo-Copado on charges of rape, sexual assault and unlawful sexual penetration.
He says the child came forward with information about the abuse in May and Bravo-Copado, who works in the construction industry, hadn’t been seen since then.
His Facebook account was deleted and his bank account was closed.
His truck was found abandoned in remote Yamhill County but all of his construction tools were missing and investigators didn’t suspect foul play.
Bravo-Copado’s bail has been set at $750,000.
His arraignment has been set for Wednesday at 3 p.m.
