Mourners fill streets for Cowlitz Fire’s Mike Zainfeld

KELSO, Wash. (KOIN) — The streets of Kelso and Longview were filled with mourners paying their final respects to Cowlitz Fire Battalion Chief Mike Zainfeld.

The 41-year-old husband and father was struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder related to his job and was on medical leave when he took his own life September 19.

The procession began at the fire station in Kelso and arrived at Newlife Fellowship Church in Longview.
