PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Xavier is a young man who could spend hours in a bookstore. He loves books, math and science and has set his sights on one day becoming an architect.
“I really like books because it’s like putting myself in a different world and being able to see the world in a different light — kinda like, take myself out of a situation,” said Xavier from inside a Barnes & Noble bookstore.
He’s so good with his school work that his peers come to him for help.
Xavier has been in foster care for years.
“It feels like everybody always has things that are perfect for them,” he said. “It feels like everybody’s life is perfect and put together and set and mine’s always shifting and moving and always different.”
Xavier hopes to find a family that can help him find stability and build a structured future.
Xavier is Wednesday’s Child for Dec. 12, 2018.
