PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Now over a week since the initial spark, firefighters have been making progress on the Milepost 97 Fire with the containment up to 30%.

The southeast edge of the human-caused fire is 100% lined with fire hose at this point, bringing the total to 23 miles of fire hose used.

Firefighters will continue to work on improving the perimeter lines throughout Thursday as drier, warmer weather is expected this weekend.

An informational community meeting on the fire will be held at the North Valley High School on Thursday night.
