PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man who was mortally wounded in the parking lot of a Southeast Portland apartment complex flagged down a woman he knew, who then took him to a nearby hospital where he later died.  

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 41-year-old Dominique Scott Eivers and said he died of a gunshot wound.

Blood was visible on the ground in the north parking lot of the Court Louise Apartments, 13059 SE Powell Boulevard when officers arrived shortly before 6 a.m.

Several people told investigators they heard gunfire or a car backfiring, and then later saw an injured man moving toward SE 131st and Powell.

Homicide detectives arrested 38-year-old Nathan W. Moore in connection with the murder. He is being held at the Multnomah County Jail on charges of murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

He is scheduled to appear in court on November 29. 

The deceased man was later identified as 41-year-old Dominique S. Eivers of Gresham.
