Wyden weighs in on new tax bill: ‘A poor fit for Oregon’

News

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A day after the senate passed a $1.5 trillion tax reform bill, Oregon Senator Ron Wyden was back in Portland, joining KOIN 6 News in studio for a live interview.

Wyden talked about the passed bill, a piece of legislature he called a “poor fit for Oregon.”

“It’s like wearing a tuxedo to the beach,” he said. “The fact is it’s particularly hard on states like ours which have high state and local taxes.”

Wyden talked with KOIN 6 News for over 8 minutes, discussing the bill, the importance of his town halls and meeting with the public, and his constant travel from the nation’s capital and back to his home in Oregon.

Watch the full interview in the video above.

Wyden also went to Cleveland High School on Sunday to hold a town hall and further discuss the new bill. You can watch that story below.
