PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — For more than 35 years, I’ve been bringing you my Wednesday’s Child stories — featuring children waiting to find adoptive homes.
Two years ago at Barnes and Noble, I introduced you to 12-year-old Marissa, who desperately wanted to find a family.
“I just want a home so I can stay and not have to worry about this stuff and focus on school and my education,” she previously said. “I’ll be safe and feel loved.”
After the segment aired, a family watching KOIN 6 News responded and adopted Marissa.
On Saturday at 11 a.m., I will meet Marissa and her new family back at Barnes and Noble Bridgeport Village.
Friends and family will be there — and you’re invited as well. Proceeds from the sales on Saturday will be used to donate books to foster and adoptive children and families.
