PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Usually at a young age, kids enjoy watching cartoons, but not Aloha’s junior receiver Tanner Volk; instead, he wanted to study football.
“I just wanted to watch something I had a love for,” said Volk. “I wanted to see and see what the guys who made it big were doing and see the plays they were running.”
The junior receiver is already a big-time playmaker for the Warriors, but what separates him from most is his true understanding of the game.
Coach Volk, Tanner’s dad, introduced his son to the game at a young age, and Tanner couldn’t get enough.
“The only thing he wanted to watch was Sports Center, college football, NFL football, anything. He just loved learning their moves then he would go outside and try and learn the moves,” Coach Volk said.
