PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The Oregon State Beavers went down to the Bay and came out with their second conference win and now, are currently holding second place in the Pac-12 North division behind the Oregon Ducks.
The big win at Cal was sparked from a huge performance defensively where the Beavers tallied 14 tackles for loss and nine sacks. To finish off a great performance, the Beavers defense forced a late-game turnover where former walk-on and now-starter Jaydon Grant picked off freshman quarterback Spencer Brasch to seal the 21-17 win for the Beavers.
Now, after the biggest win in the Jonathan Smith era, the Beavers have a bye-week and are able to rest up before they travel down to Arizona to take on a Wildcats team who has dropped their last two games giving up 40+ points.
Joining the Beaver Smack podcast is former Oregon State quarterback Darrell Garretson, who breaks down what worked for the Beavers and how their play can transfer over to next week’s match up with the Wildcats.
Also, Beaver Blitz Staff writer Carter Bahns joins the show to give the latest injury updates and what this win means for the Beavers.
