Former USC receiver Devon Williams flips from Beavers to Ducks

"I know in my heart that [Oregon] is where I belong and I cannot wait to be playing in Autzen Stadium wearing Green and Yellow."

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Former USC wide receiver Devon Williams announced his intent to transfer to the University of Oregon.

Oregon State had announced the addition of Williams to their roster on Wednesday; however, Williams announced on Friday that he had made the decision to transfer to Oregon over OSU just days pledging to the Beavers.

In a tweet Friday afternoon, Williams thanked Oregon State for the opportunity and “opening their arms to me,” but added that the past three weeks have “taught me so much.”

“I know in my heart that [Oregon] is where I belong and I cannot wait to be playing in Autzen Stadium wearing Green and Yellow,” Williams continued.

With this commitment, the Ducks now have themselves another big-time receiver to join a position group that hasn’t seen much success. While Williams will have to sit out this season, the Ducks have a playmaker for next season.

Williams was a 247sports.com four-star recruit and stands at 6’4, weighing in at 210 pounds.
