HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN) -- The Hillsboro Hops will take on the Eugene Emeralds Wednesday night for their home opener at Ron Tonkin Field.
KOIN 6 News talked to Hops General Manager K.L. Wombacher about what fans can expect to see this season.
"It's all about fun and it's all about memories," he said. "We love it here. You can get in for $7 -- sit in the front row for $14 to see the future stars of tomorrow playing baseball here today. Can't beat it."
The Hops have won 3 out of their 5 games during their sixth season. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, however, there is a lot more than just baseball that happens on home game nights.
Dale Moore, who's known as Chef Papi, is the brains behind all the tasty food you can find at Ron Tonkin Field.
"This is an actual cheeseburger with homemade bacon jam with a little bit of crispy onion straws and we've all seen the donut burger that's old school," Moore said. "We're going cinnamon rolls today and we call it 'CinnaBOMB,'"
Aside from baseball and great food, fans can expect a fireworks show after every home game.
