PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Oregon State Beavers were favored by 23 points heading into their home game against the Idaho Vandals. They easily covered the spread.

The Beavers scored 2 touchdowns in each of the first 3 quarters and their defense shut down everything the Vandals tried, earning a 42-0 victory at Reser Stadium in Corvallis.

Chance Nolan tossed touchdowns to 3 separate receivers, Champ Flemings, Tyjon Lindsey and Tegan Quitoriano. BJ Baylor ran for 2 scores and Deshaun Fenwick added another.

In the stat that underscores how well the Beavers played, Luke Loecher only punted once the entire game.

Oregon State was not challenged by the Vandals, who have lost 17 of the past 18 matchups against the Beavers dating back to 1953.

It was Oregon State’s first shutout since a 3-0 victory over Pittsburgh in the 2008 Sun Bowl.

Oregon State improves to 2-1, while Idaho falls to 1-2.
