PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Antonio Brown no longer has a shoe deal with Nike, the company confirmed to KOIN 6 on Thursday.
The Boston Globe was the first to report the news.
The company would not say why, saying “we don’t get into specifics of sports marketing relationships” when asked.
The 31-year-old Brown was released by Oakland on Sept. 7 after clashing with the team throughout training camp. He agreed to a contract with New England that same day.
Then sexual assault allegations were made against him. His former trainer Britney Taylor accused Brown of sexually assaulting her on three occasions, including rape, in the lawsuit filed in South Florida. A second woman has alleged that Brown exposed himself to her while she was working on a mural for him at his Pittsburgh home.
The Nike spokesperson did not tell the Globe the reason he was no longer an athlete with the company.
