2 years after disappearance, mom wants answers

Cynthia Martinez-Perez disappeared after leaving a Keizer Bar on July 16, 2017

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A family’s search for the truth continues two years after the disappearance of a beloved daughter, sister and mother.

Cynthia Martinez-Perez was last seen at Tequila Nights Bar & Grill at 3393 River Road North in Keizer at about 2:35 a.m. on July 16, 2017. She was seen leaving with 2 Hispanic men in a blue Honda Odyssey minivan.

A person of interest, Jaime Alvarez-Olivera, was one of those men. The van was found but Alvarez-Olivera hasn’t been.

Angelica Castillo is still holding out hope that her daughter will return.

“Our family is broken up,” Castillo said. “Her children need her, we need her.”

She said the family thinks about Cynthia every day — especially her 4 children.

“They always pray at lunch and breakfast and whenever they can to bring her back safe,” Castillo said.

Without answers or clues, Castillo said her faith in God and the bond with her family keeps them going.

“Please speak up,” she said. “It’s been a long, hurtful two years and we just need some answers.”
