Closing out September like it’s already late October

Weather

Temps have been below average for 10 days in a row and the last time we hit 80 was about two weeks ago

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Here comes that fall trough that is going to keep us cool as the month wraps up.

Yeah, it’s already been pretty cool, we’ve been below average for 10 days in a row and the last time we hit 80 was about two weeks ago. Check out the observed temperatures of late, notice we have been sitting in the 60s more often than not. It’s cool, we are cool about it in the PNW.

Here is the weather pattern that you can see developing Friday and then we are in the thick of it by Sunday. This will drop our temperatures aloft to below freezing all the way down to about 5,000 – 4,500 ft. This upper-level low will actually move in retrograde, or back to the west from the east. Notice on Saturday that the cool blue and green is further northeast and then it settles further west on Sunday. With that cool air being pulled to the surface, we will see our daytime temperatures crashing to about 60 by the end of the weekend.

Long story short, it’s sweater weather — and won’t be changing any time soon.
