PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – There are 9 days of summer left and we are going to spend about 5 of them in the 60s and potentially even cooler. A chilly air mass is going to move in Sunday and it will stay below average for at least 5 to 7 days.
In fact, we may not see our temperatures warm above 60 degrees on Sunday and Tuesday! The last time that we had something like that, was back in May. So count this a week of late October weather to walk us into fall (there are actually signs for some warmer weather around early fall).
Now let’s talk about the rain because this system and then one following will have some hefty rain totals associated with the events. By the time we wrap up Sunday, we could see anywhere from .50″ to 1.00″, with higher totals likely on the Oregon coast. We have two major weather models below depicting what could be our rain total through Sunday night at 11:30 p.m. This is definitely a rain jacket sort of day and you will want to be ready for the showers if you’re heading out to the Timbers match, too!
