Heat blasts Portland area for next 2 days

Weather

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Some of the hottest temperatures of the year are expected this week.

Through Thursday, expect temperatures to rise into the upper 90’s with triple-digit heat possible.

Upper-level winds are pushing smoke to the north from wildfires in Southwest Oregon and California.

Cooling centers in Washington County

By Friday we’ll see temperatures cooling off into the mid 80’s as a disturbance swings through. As of now, the GFS weather model is showing light showers through the Portland metro area on Saturday.

We’ll be tracking this and any changes as we head through the week.
