Hot temps for now, but major forecast changes start midweek

Weather

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Disruption is on the way, or you might say, it’s going to get back to the way Oregon is known to be.

After back-to-back hot 90 degree days for us (what a doozy), it’s going to get back to some 70 degree days. We’ve had a solid stretch of summer weather. The type of weather that takes you to Oregon beaches or to the local rivers and lakes for a cooldown.

80 or above the last 10 days

So what is next? We are going to reconnect with the onshore flow and that means more clouds and definitely cooler weather. Both major weather models are shaping the end of our work week and the start of the weekend with a closed area of low pressure (tentatively), this will drop our temps to the mid-70s by Saturday. Before we get there, we may even have a day on Thursday that won’t crack the lower 80s.

Now the last three weekends have been reasonably hot, this is where we topped off: 88, 91, 80, 85, 88, 94.

If you were hoping for another weekend that was similar, we are likely going to see the coolest weekend since July 6 and 7.
