PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – August can bring the heat and for the next few days, it will. We still haven’t seen a triple-digit day but we will add a few more 90 degree days to the Summer 2019 resume. We’ve had 6 so far dating back to June.
August has only just begun but it’s already brought some of the warmest temperatures we’ve had this summer. It will be a toss-up on if we will see as many as 2018 or if we will have something similar to 2015 but we are definitely not avoiding the 90-degree temperatures this year.
Here is the forecast for Sunday. A ridge of high pressure building to the south of Oregon will barge right into our region and heat us up until Wednesday. My forecast is calling for 90-degree temperatures until Wednesday with Sunday being the warmest day with the potential for mid 90s.
I am also keeping an eye on a pattern shift a little later this month that may bring in more heat. For now, it’s important to remember to grab the water, double-check the car for children and pets and make sure you’re taking breaks if you’re outside.
