Thunderstorms, lightning on last day of spring

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The first day of summer is Thursday, and Oregon welcomed the sunny season with some heavy rain, winds, hail and thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms and hail were reported in parts of Clackamas and Washington County after 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service put in a severe thunderstorm warning in Marion County lasting until 3:45 p.m. Clackamas County had one in place until 5 p.m.

But that's not the only weather the area experienced. Temperatures could rise to 95 degrees in Portland, which would break a record for this day. And along with thunderstorms, heavy winds and high heat were also reported in Clackamas and Marion Counties.
